What happens when the photographer encounters an immovable obstacle? Nothing, really, other than frustration. She sat there when we came into the big yard with those fantasic columns. She remained there for the entire time that I was trying to take this picture, looking challengingly at me and my camera. Don't know where her tour group was, but she was definitely not with them. I even left, took pictures of a different location, then returned, and there she was The most photographed female at Medinat Habu on that day. |

The beauty of Madinet Habu is that so many of the lovely wall |
decorations, wherever there is shade, are visible in full and original color. |

Imagine it with each column having a very large statur of Rameses III standing in front. And all in full color. |

On closer inspection - someone lend me a hand. These would be the hands of vanquished foes being presented to the Pharaoh. More impressive than ears. |

Not quite of the scale of the huge columns of Karnak, but definitely, if size matters, way up there and designed to dazzle and impress visitors. |
